About Glen Carbon, Il - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Glen Carbon is a lovely and comfortable Midwestern town located in Madison County, Illinois. With a population right around 13,000, it is small. However, it is within a quick drive’s distance to St. Louis. Therefore, it provides the best of both worlds for residents and visitors – the quiet and serenity of a small town and the conveniences that a larger town offers. The weather is also the best of all worlds. With warm, or even hot, summers and cold, often snowy, winters – it’s swimming in the summer and snowmen in the wintertime!
On a pretty summer or spring day, you may be in the mood for a little bit of outdoor fun and nature. Glen Carbon has no shortage of awesome ways to spend a lovely spring or summer day. The county of Madison maintains an elaborate trail system which weaves through Glen Carbon and some other surrounding towns. The MCT Trails System was made in the early part of the nineties and consists of 20 miles of natural beauty. The town of Glen Carbon maintains the Ronald J. Foster Sr. Heritage Trail which is an 11 mile trail dedicated to the town’s former mayor.
Glen Carbon, itself, maintains and operates three public parks for residents and visitors to enjoy when the weather is suitable. The first, and most popular, is Miner Park, which is located between the American Legion Post and the Glen Carbon Centennial Library in the Old Town section of Glen Carbon. Citizen Park serves as the entrance to the Ronal J. Foster Sr. Heritage Trails and is located behind Fire Station #1. Village Hall Park is a large sporting complex for little league and other types of recreational sports and events. At the parks, you will find a wide variety of amenities including, but certainly not limited to: tracks, playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball facilities and more!
